An Art Deco plaster tiger statue, patinated with a bronze colour. Signed at the base. It features a metal plaque with the title ‘Tigre a l’Affut’.
Thomas Cartier (1879-1943) was an award winning French sculptor renowned for his animal art in particular tigers and panthers. He worked in bronze, plaster and terracotta and was awarded a gold medal at the 1927 Salon of Arts Decoratifs.
